This blog started off by focussing on NZ's smaller 3rd level airlines, past and present. It has evolved to trying to present some record of NZ's domestic airline operations and some of the larger charter operators, interesting NZ international airliner movements and photos I have taken around the country. Paraparaumu-Auckland Service Launched Today
Air New Zealand Link's new Paraparaumu-Auckland service began today. The services is being operated by Air Nelson using Bombardier Q300s. The first flight, NZ8490, which left Paraparaumu for Auckland at 0655, was operated by ZK-NES. The first flight into Paraparaumu, NZ8491, was operated by ZK-NEJ.
The flight south afforded magnificent views of the Volcanic Plateau, with Mount Ngauruhoe, Mount Tongariro and Mount Ruapehu looking stunning.
The weather at Paraparaumu wasn't so great - Kapiti Island appears out of the murk...
The new terminal is at the rear of the Helipro hangar. Air Nelson will operate 18 flights a week between Paraparaumu and Auckland.
