Qantas budget operator Jetstar commenced scheduled domestic services to Dunedin from 14 July utilising Airbus A320 aircraft, the first service flown by VH-VGO from/to Auckland as JQ283/282.

Jetstar has visited Dunedin on a number of occasions following diversions from Queenstown due to weather, the first recorded visit was on 26 June 2009 where it was photographed below.
