This blog started off by focussing on NZ's smaller 3rd level airlines, past and present. It has evolved to trying to present some record of NZ's domestic airline operations and some of the larger charter operators, interesting NZ international airliner movements and photos I have taken around the country. ZK-NAH?? Good ad for Nelson Aviation College!
ReplyDeleteWhat was the faux pas?
ReplyDeleteShowing the wrong aircraft in the undercarriage shot.
Deletepretty unprofessional given this is apparently posted by the airline. can't even identify the single type it flies
Deletewonder when originair are gonna announce some new routes? they need to ditch NSN-WLG as I've heard it is performing below average. NSN-CHC or NSN-NPE could easily work
ReplyDeleteyea it arrived late empty into WLG to pick us up, then left even later with just 8 of us. the whole experience was average at best. The check in was good tho
DeleteIt's quite unfortunate that we've had two new airlines base themselves in NSN within a few months of each other. I wonder whether both will be sustainable, especially with JQ serving NSN. There's probably room for a regional airline in CHC (serving Mt Cook, Wanaka, Te Ana, etc) or maybe in AKL (serving Masterton and perhaps pioneering some new destinations), or at a push an airline providing direct flights between tourist towns. But I think it's very unlikely that either Origin or KRA will be able to transition into these niches in the short term. The best we can hope for is that one of them starts adding flights from a different hub, otherwise we may see the end of yet another enterprising kiwi airline.
DeleteThe end of yet another enterprising KIWI airline??? Are you suggesting something???
DeleteNot sure what the OP thinks, but I reckon that Origin is more likely to survive seeing as they are not only more cautious than KRA, but have the second aircraft whilst also having even more j31/2 Jetstreams available locally to borrow.
DeleteIf KRA goes bust, they just need get a hold of a J-41 to match their service.
Always seems busy when I've been on it. NSN-NPE is a marginal prospect as best.
ReplyDeletelots of rumours around that Origin looking to add Jetstream 41 by years end.
ReplyDeleteAnd do what with. They have to give away seats just to get people on their plane
ReplyDeleteApparently they have had their aoc suspended ............................
ReplyDeleteKnew somthing like that was bound to happen. What's the details?
DeleteAn Airwork/Inflite Metro operating their NSN-WLG-NSN at present
DeleteSounds as if it hasn't got long to run before it hits the wall.
