This blog started off by focussing on NZ's smaller 3rd level airlines, past and present. It has evolved to trying to present some record of NZ's domestic airline operations and some of the larger charter operators, interesting NZ international airliner movements and photos I have taken around the country. As you can see, sadly, Services to Hamilton have all but failed as a stand alone service. Now operating a KRA operating days (except Sun) Akl-Ham-Akl singular return service. Barrier have started to advertise $60 special fares again Ham-Akl but kind of pointless as no way to get back. Pointed this out to them on their FB page and a rep PM'd me saying they are aware of the awkward timetable for now. A huge positive is that they are looking for another "suitable" aircraft for the route and "look to reinstated a better frequency." Considering they are down to the P68 on the route, the cost must be counting up. A new aircraft would have to be another Caravan?
BA might have bitten off more than they could chew for now. They needed to have pushed Great Barrier as a weekend getaway for Hamilton/Waikato. Wrong side of summer...A push for next summer a great idea. Parking at Ham long term is a rip off at $100 more than five days and not all that secure. Auckland wins hands down in that department. An opening for an off property provider? Like most Ham users, I try to fly from home but when the expressway is fully complete in 2019 will simply find AKL too tempting. It already is even with Huntly section still in construction.

Just drive and use the park and ride. Just did a week away and the parking was $25
