End of a beautiful Friendship

Wayne Grant captured these sad pictures of Fokker F27 Mk 500 Friendship ZK-NAO (c/n 10364) which has been withdrawn from service. NAO was the second of NAC's 500 series Friendships and it was registered to the Corporation in 1973. It went on to see service with Air New Zealand before working for the Airwork/NZ Post night mail flights. Rumours have suggested it might be going to MOTAT but Rescue Fire is another possibility.

  2. NAO and NAN were the two 400 series, great old ladies and they served New Zealand very well... Thanks to Douglas Paterson and the "old Guard" of NAC.

Vale NAC, a great little company that gave Air NZ its best staff and good business ethic
