Absolutely last Convair passenger flight



On the Chatham Island Tours website today are details of Tour # 39, the last passenger flights of a Convair 580, ZK-CIB, in the world...

We have been able to secure a Charter to the Chatham Islands on the last passenger flight that will be flown by the last flying Convair 580 in the whole world. This flight will leave Auckland at 9:00am on Friday 13th August and fly down to Wellington to pick up more passengers, leaving there at 11:00am arrive Chatham Islands Midday (Local Chatham Island Time)  We will be met by local guides that will look after us for the weekend with the usual Chatham Island hospitality. We depart Chatham at 2:00pm (Local) on Sunday 15th August arriving in Wellington at 3:00pm before carrying on to Auckland, arriving approx 4:50pm.  

Single with shared facilities $2,743

Standard twin / double with ensuite $2,793

Superior double $2,843

  1. Never say never. There are credible rumours Air Chats are working on an attendance at Omaka before CIB undertakes a permenant one way flight to the Chathams. CIE left service last month, KFL back in March.

    2. Yep, and the Chathams are 45mins ahead. This would make the outbound flight 15mins with the given times

    1. Yeah that was my hope too. Didnt Air Chats promise a good send off for the Connie? Seems really sad they are just letting it fade away. Not everyone can afford over $2000 and a week off work.... would love them to have done a WAG rotation for the Convair fans out there
