Taieri Action - Way Back

Sister blog NZ Civil Aircraft had a great post of NAC operations at Taieri in 1954 earlier this year, see http://nzcivair.blogspot.com/2021/05/remembering-when-1954-taieri.html. All that remains now is the old NAC hangar that began life as Union Airways hangar...

NAC hangar, Taieri, 2 October 2021. Isn't it great that it is still standing!

And it was here, on the eastern side of the field, that NAC had its first terminal before the move to the western side.

  1. As an NAC fan this brought a big smile to my face. Thanks Steve, I appreciate you taking the time to compile this post.

  2. It's criminal that we haven't had the photo opportunity to put ZK-AWP in front of that magnificent art deco hangar.
