Sounds Air's busy Woodbourne Hub

Sounds Air was being kept busy at Blenheim's Woodbourne Airport on 2 May 2025...


Arriving from Wellington just before I departed was Cessna 208 Caravan ZK-PDM

Pilatus PC12 ZK-PLB did a couple of Wellington flights before being my ride to Paraparaumu and Nelson


Pilatus PC12 ZK-PLT had done the morning Blenheim-Paraparaumu-Nelson return flights. It was given a wash down before being parked up for the day

Pilatus PC12 ZK-PLZ was on the Christchurch flights. 

Cessna 208 ZK-SAN arriving into Nelson from Wellington

Cessna 208 Grand Caravan ZK-SAY was called into action after Air New Zealand had a bird strike and their flight to Wellington was delayed by 3 hours

    With Air NZ reducing its schedule to just 3 flights per day on certain weekdays. It appears the point to point market is increasingly being ceded to Sounds Air. With Air NZ just providing the sectors that move connections to its wider network.
