UTA Douglas DC-6
John Wegg has sent this classic photo of UTA's Douglas DC-6, F-BHMR... his question is...
I remember flying in a UTA DC-6 from Auckland to Tontouta, in New Caledonia, right at the end of 1965. I am pretty sure we took off from Auckland Airport, in the same location as it is now. However, I note that officially Auckland Airport didn't open until early 1966. I am thinking there may have been flights out of it before it was officially opened.
So I think this photo could have been taken at Auckland Airport, not Whenuapai.

The flight took 6 hours.
