  1. I tell you Steve. .. that bloody PLT is like the fiordland moose! !! When you are working away and without a camera... you will see it then. .... when you have a day off, got a camera and at the airport... it's not there!!! almost every weekend, PLT is in fielding. .. I have only got one shot of it... not quite the one I'm after, I'm after a shot with the taupo district council logo facing the terminal

    1. I've always wondered why they have aircraft at fielding - what's the reason?

    2. Yeah I have wondered that myself. .. I understand that sounds air do their caravan maintenance at omaka. but no sealed strip could present a risk to these 7 figure machines and from reading various posts on here and other blogs. A long with a sealed strip. It seems that there is a strong presence of pc12 at fielding before sounds air got these aircraft. ...

    4. Caravan is a 7 figure machine as well? Have u seen what the RFDS do with theirs? Beleive the pc12's have to be maintained by a Pilatus authorised centre. In Australia I have heard they have to fly them across the country to get to a service centre, sometimes 5-6 hours

  2. AVCRAFT Engineering are the only authorised Pilatus service centre in NZ. http://www.avcraft.co.nz/
And they have chosen to locate at Feilding. So all work on the PC12s has to be done there.I was told (second hand) that AVCRAFT's boss is a Pilatus factory trained aircraft engineer who wanted to come home to NZ - those facts maybe subject to further correction.
