This blog started off by focussing on NZ's smaller 3rd level airlines, past and present. It has evolved to trying to present some record of NZ's domestic airline operations and some of the larger charter operators, interesting NZ international airliner movements and photos I have taken around the country. End of Eagle Air flights between Auckland and Hamilton
Arriving into Hamilton this evening, 8 February 2016, Air New Zealand flight NZ2215 arrives from Auckland marking the end of Eagle Air's flight through Auckland. The service was operated by Beech 1900D ZK-EAB.
There are four white tails parked on the grass at the maintenance facilities. Only six in service at the moment. The Palmerston service is pretty much the air bridge linking into the remaining routes served by Wellington and Christchurch.
HLZ-PMR, PMR - WLG,GIS - WLG, WLG-BHE, WLG-TIU, CHC-BHE and CHC-HKK. The various routes will be upgauged at different times before August. HLZ-PMR will be the final Eagle Route
Thank you. Quite fitting that HLZ - PMR will be their final route given that this route (plus HLZ - WAG) was Eagles first scheduled route (and the three had been part of Eagle's air taxi operations before then).
How many of the 1900's are to be with drawn from service due to this change in scheduling ?
