An interesting development

Noted doing Originair's flights between Nelson and New Plymouth and Nelson and Palmerston North over the last ten days has been Air Wanganui's Beech Super King Air seen below in Hamilton.

The last day Originair's Jetstreams were used seems to be 12 September. The Jetstreams are operated for Originair by air2there. An Air Chathams Metroliner was also noted in Paraparaumu last week and there was some speculation that it was operating an air2there charter...

  1. Jetstreams grounded due to maintenance issues supposedly

    1. maintenance controller issues. not issues with maintenance of actual aircraft as such.

  2. Metroliner was in Kapiti for the conair flight, which is usually done by the jetstream. So by the looks of things it's a grounding as the one at PPQ is still there as of this evening, would have flown away or been looked if it was maintenance. Good spell the end for air2there if it be the case as they don't do anything outside of origin's flights really. Be a shame to see air2there go!

    1. Yeh no sign of any branded air2there aircraft since their Caravan 208 went off to Fielding for some maintenance almost a year ago.

    2. It's still in the Fieldair hangar in bits. I see their B200 is parked up at Napier.

  3. Flew NSN-NPL last week on OG6201, pilot said it was only for the next two days, must have lasted longer then ah!!

Nice flight in the King Air. Few unhappy customers, who found it too small. One told me they would not fly Origin again. They found the 'yellow plane' (J32) too small, but this was ridiculous. I personally loved it! MDC is a great bird.

  4. Wish I lived in Nelson... would book a flight just to get a ride in King Air... Some people you will never convince about "small" planes

  5. I see posts on Facebook on the New Originair New Plymouth Napier service. From the photos it appears they were using a Air Chathams Metroliner. Can anyone confirm this or advise what equipment they used
