Operating Originair's flights yesterday was Skyline Aviation's Cessna 510 Mustang ZK-YDZ.
The jet operated Nelson-New Plymouth-Napier and the return Napier-New Plymouth-Nelson. The jet then operated two Nelson-Palmerston North-Nelson services.
This would be, from my reckoning, the first time a New Zealand third level/regional operator has used jet equipment.

That is like the coolest thing since sliced bread!
ReplyDeleteMt Cook operated 146 for a time in 2001/2002 ex Ansett
ReplyDeleteMount Cook was more national than regional, and not really a 3rd level airline
DeleteNot to mention too that they were technically air nz as they were in Air NZs colour scheme.
DeleteAir NZ in everything all but subsidiary name
Nit picking really, the comment from Steve says third level/regional.
DeleteThere were 3 people getting off it in NPE on Friday lunchtime
ReplyDeleteA very nice way to travel
ReplyDeleteThere you go Steve.... bugger the Whangarie flight... get your bum on that seat... and do a trip report
ReplyDeleteYou are so right Fraser!
DeleteYDZ also being used today for Originair rotations. MDC must be busy Haha!
ReplyDeleteThey are only a 4 seat aircraft plus pilots I think.
ReplyDeleteCannot be an economical way to run I would think?
Single pilot ops I think ? So a fifth seat up front. Business class??
DeleteOrigin Pacific also leased ZKNQC 737 numerous times on charters in which some positioning flights were offered for sale. I recall that AKL-BHE was one of the sectors flown.
ReplyDeleteDidn't Air Nelson operate a Citation in the '90s?
ReplyDeleteYes, but not on scheduled services
