Wanaka Service gets Airborne


 

Sounds Air's Wanaka service got airborne with Pilatus PC12 ZK-PLV operating the first flight, S8 710, from Wanaka to Christchurch this morning and the return service S8 711 will operate soon.

The airline is overnighting a Pilatus PC12 at Wanaka and operating a daily service between Wanaka and Christchurch with 10 return flights a week. 

Wanaka schedule effective 2 November 2020

Previously Air New Zealand had operated an air service between the two centres from 2004 to 2013. The final service was operated on the 30th of January 2013, by Beech 1900 ZK-EAG.   3. It is a good start and there is room to up the schedule from 10 per week to double daily. Sounds Air could look at flying a new route in the mid day with the 6 hours it is parked up in CHC.
