"The secret's out!! Sunair are opening up flights to and from Ardmore, Auckland from the 4th October 2021. To begin with we will be offering scheduled flights between Ardmore and Great Barrier Island with possible connections on to Whangarei and Tauranga.
These flights aren't quite bookable on our online system but will be in the coming couple of weeks. Keep an eye out for when we go live for booking!
A daily flight will leave Great Barrier Island at 11.30am to arrive at Ardmore at noon with the return flight departing at 1.00pm to arrive at the Barrier at 1.30pm.
Sunair first started operating to and from Ardmore on the 1st of December 2014 when it moved the Auckland terminus of its Whitianga flights from Auckland International to Ardmore Airport. At the same Sunair introduced flights from Ardmore to Great Barrier Island as well as strengthening the Whitianga flights by removing the "two passengers required" restriction. These flights continued to operate until the 8th of September 2017.
