Getting ready for service

Getting ever closer to service with Golden Bay Air is Britten Norman Islander ZK-EVO. The Ex Fly-My-Sky Islander flew to Nelson on the 16th of August 2021. The Islander will be be used on the company's services linking Takaka to Wellington, Karamea and Nelson.

Thanks to Terry Hodges for this photo of EVO outside of the Air New Zealand hangar conducting engine runs today.

  1. Well done Golden Bay Air - EVO looks EPIC in the livery. Very clean! Looking forward to flying out to KTF from WLG on it :)

  3. Oh great now we’re all gonna get stuck behind one of the slowest IFR aircraft on air transport ops into WLG!

    1. Haha yeah they are pretty slow alright! Always said with the Islander - 'full throttle from when you leave the ground, until you hit the ground". Gee a strong westerly and it'd probably struggle to get back to NZTK! Would end up going backwards I reckon. Must say though, livery does look nice.

    2. Agree on the Dash comment. 150 till 5nm doesn't seem to apply to them

  5. BN2 is still going to be slower than a Dash8, no matter what the wind direction or strength.

  6. Comparing to older images EVO now has a sharp nose so will fly down that ILS like greased lightning 👍
