Rebranded

Up on the Air Whanganui - previously Air Wanganui - Facebook page are photos of their Beech King Air 200 ZK-MDC which has been repainted in a stunning new scheme and revealing rebranded Air Whanganui name and logo.

My profile on Air Wanganui, which used to operate an airline services, can be found here...  http://3rdlevelnz.blogspot.com/2019/05/air-wanganui-and-piper-mojave.html

  1. ZK-MDC has been seen at Hood Aerodrome a few times, uplifting patients from ambulances at the mostly-disused airline terminal building. I must keep an eye out for the King Air 200 in its new livery.

    1. There was a Masterton District Council meeting discussing it a few weeks ago. Like most of their meetings, it was streamed live on Facebook, but some councillors were talking total rubbish through holes in the side of their heads, so I got bored with it after about ten minutes and went and did other things. I think they're still trying to make up their minds what to do about Mania Road. There are two options, one is to put a big dog-leg in it to allow for the proposed runway extension, the other is to simply close that section of Mania Road and build a new link road from Mania Road east of the airport across to Andrew Street. One thing which has thrown a big spanner in the works is public hostility to the current council spending up large on any project due to the fiasco over the town hall issue. The mayor isn't standing for re-election this year (she'd almost certainly get turfed out if she did), and I have a feeling there is going to be a major clean-out of about half of the councillors who voted for the new civic centre, which has turned into a huge and very expensive fiasco, resulting in that ratepayer revolt. Hood Aerodrome has kind of got caught up in that shit-fight.

  5. Love it! Looks amazing. It really stands out from the rest. Nice to see something different with a bit of colour. I've seen this aircraft in New Plymouth quite a bit as of late. On behalf of the Taranaki and entire New Zealand community, kudos to the Air Wanganui team for their hard work and dedication. Angels of the skies. You truly are wonderful. Any word as to when the other aircraft will be painted? Cheers, Glenn.
