Island Aviation began operations today, the 25th of November 2022, with Britten Norman Islander ZK-SFK operating both morning and afternoon services from North Shore to Great Barrier Island with Jacob Taylor as Pilot in Command with Ben Yeardley with him as the second pilot.
Island Aviation, New Zealand's newest airline, intends to operate the route twice a day and as needed flights between Waiheke Island and both North Shore and Great Barrier Island. Islander ZK-SFK will soon be joined by sister ship ZK-PIZ and the company also includes Waiheke Wings which operates Cessna 172 ZK-RNX. The Islanders will be painted later in the summer.
