This blog started off by focussing on NZ's smaller 3rd level airlines, past and present. It has evolved to trying to present some record of NZ's domestic airline operations and some of the larger charter operators, interesting NZ international airliner movements and photos I have taken around the country. Saab #4
One to watch our for... crossing the Tasman this afternoon is Pel-Air's Saab 340 VH-EKT on delivery to Air Chathams. It flew into Sydney from Wagga Wagga earlier this afternoon on the start of its delivery flight.
Wonder what her reg is going to be would it follow ZK-CIY and CIZ? and did they reconfigure her in Wagga? idk if Chatham's wants a full on Saab Freighter
Being a year or so now since the mix of dedicated freight and combi 580s were retirered from their fleet and operating their Saabs and ATRs from the chats.. You wonder if they feel that the current passenger config aircraft are not quite up to the convairs capabilities and they really do need a pure freight aircraft for basically their bread and butter regarding their operations and thats shipping freight i.e seafood from the chats.
It would be great to see a 737 in their colors when they decide to go for one... That runway/apron construction must be almost completed
