On the 3rd of January 2025 Originair became the 15th operator that has offered passenger air services to Westport. The Nelson-based airline has taken over the air service previously operated to the Buller that was operated by Sounds Air.
Originair will fly 6 times a week between Westport and Wellington using their 18 seat British Aerospace Jetstream aircraft. The first flights on the 3rd of January 2025, OGN 653 from Wellington to Westport and the return flight OGN 654, were operated in BAe Jetstream ZK-JSK under command of Captain Sarah Twisleton and First Officer Jason Salo. Some 100 people gathered to welcome Westport's new airline.

I will publish a fuller post on the first flights in the next day or two.
And if you're trying to figure out who the other 14 operators are who have flown to Westport, check out my index of operators that have flown there here : https://3rdlevelnz.blogspot.com/2015/04/westport-index-of-posts.html
