Sad news from the USA, Brian Lockstone, perhaps one of New Zealand's greatest aviation historians passed away in Washington DC yesterday. Brian was a long time member of the Aviation Historical Society of New Zealand and wrote for a number of publications. He has been helpful to me in this blog and encouraging of the mahi.
His wife, Rosemary, is New Zealand's ambassador to the US. I've never met him but was looking forward to meet him in Washington before Covid got in the way.
Our sincere sympathy to Rosemary and all the family, May he rest in peace.

Such sad news. I shared an office with Brian at Vincent Aviation. He was a true gentleman and will be greatly missed. Rest in peace Brian. Derek Williams
ReplyDeleteI first met Brian at his home in New Plymouth when he has a 15 year old schoolboy, busily building a 1/72-scale Airfix Sunderland! What a great career he went on to have. Such sad news.
