This blog started off by focussing on NZ's smaller 3rd level airlines, past and present. It has evolved to trying to present some record of NZ's domestic airline operations and some of the larger charter operators, interesting NZ international airliner movements and photos I have taken around the country. Second ATR for Air Chathams
On delivery to Air Chathams today was ex-Air New Zealand ATR-GIE ATR 72-212A ZK-MCU which is joining sister ship ZK-MCO. The ATR will be used on the Chatham Islands flights as well as on Tauck Tours which are being offered over the 2022-2023 summer.
Can someone enlighten me as to why Air Chatham's owns so many aircraft, yet operate so few flights. Whenever I pass their hanger at AKL I always see the metros, sf3 and sometimes the atr just sitting there. Kinda makes me wonder why they have such a large fleet?
Boeing 737 simulator being set up for them as well :) All go for 3C!
ReplyDeleteThey've owned the 737 simulator for about 3 years
