Air Chathams commenced Saab 340 services to Whakatāne yesterday with Saab 340A ZK-CIY doing the first flights, 3C 824 to Whakatāne and the return service 3C 829 to Auckland under the command of Captain Duane Emeny and co-pilot Anthony Borich. The Saab then did the overnight service to the Kāpiti Coast. The reverse service will be flown tomorrow morning. The new schedule sees 12 flights a week operate between the two centres.
Bit of a lousy service on Fridays and Sundays, surely they could have worked out a service in the morning to and from Auckland and even a possible return service on Saturday
ReplyDeleteLousy service all round. Nothing on Saturday is absolute crap
DeleteDo you mean lousy service, or lousy Schedule? I would agree that the new schedule is rubbish, it is a massive step backwards, even if the Aircraft itself is a step forward.
DeleteHowever I would disagree if the statement was that Air Chathams service is lousy. They are a fantastic airline, and Craig, Duane and the Team have kept the airline going from strength to strength even post Covid.
They really care about their Customers and the Communities they serve.
Sorry, I totally meant a lousy schedule, Yes their service is fantastic. The upgrade of aircraft is definitly a step forward for Whakatane
ReplyDeleteMaybe Sounds Air could take on a Wellington to Whakatane route with a PC-12 and operate on that route on Saturdays.
ReplyDeleteI think many would like Air Chathams to operate more flights to Auckland mainly.
DeleteDoes anyone know why Friday nights service was cancelled?
