FOR BOOKINGS ON AIR CHATHAMS GO TO
This blog started off by focussing on NZ's smaller 3rd level airlines, past and present. It has evolved to trying to present some record of NZ's domestic airline operations and some of the larger charter operators, interesting NZ international airliner movements and photos I have taken around the country. Hi Steve. While you were staying overnight at Whakatane ZK-AWP was performing one of its seven weekends in Tauranga. After landing in Whakatane the crew refuel and head up to Tauranga where it stays ovenight before returning to Whakatane on Sunday afternoon to do the trip back to Auckland. This weekend it did 5 half hour scenic flights at $99.00 out of Tauranga and on the previous visit did six. The project is going very well with nearly 600 bookings (equal to nearly 22 full flights) with two more weekends (Waitangi and the one following) to go with seats still available. On Saturday AWP shared the skies with Catalina PBY and Harvard 96. The scene was quite impressive.
